HERIB Win Beverley Building Society’s Charity of the Month Competition

Hull and East Riding Institute for the Blind, HERIB are the latest local charity to benefit from a donation by the .

HERIB provide a range of care services to over 2,500 local people who suffer from a range of visual impairments while working closely in partnership with local authorities, other local charities and a variety of support groups.

Customers of the Beverley Building Society voted for the HERIB who picked up a £250 donation which was presented to , Chairman of HERIB’s Board of Trustees at their Branch.

Michael Plaster, Marketing Manager at the Beverley Building Society said:

“As a mutual society we try and engage with our members as much as possible so by giving them the chance to decide how their society supports the local community fits perfectly.”

“We would like to say a huge thank you to those who nominated us and everyone who voted for us as well as to the Beverley Building Society for their continued support of local charities.”

“HERIB receives no government funding and we rely on donations to provide our support services to almost 2,500 people across Hull & East Yorkshire.”

“This donation will help us to provide information and emotional support through our experienced staff, resource centre, booklets, support groups and information sessions and so really will make a difference to local people who are blind or partially sighted.”

The Beverley Building Society’s Charity of the Month Competition is now in its second year of running and has so far shared a total of £6,250 with charities and groups that support people in the local area.
