Evo-Stik League : Coalville Beat Goole @ The Victoria Pleasure Grounds

Given the absence of Beverley’s sports teams from town this weekend I decided to hit the road and visit a new club in the East Riding, .

It was not as a far as I thought from Beverley to Goole, another bonus was on route there is a McDonald’s, so after a Big Mac I drove the short distance to the Victoria Pleasure Grounds.

On my arrival I was waved through the gate but I did return to the turnstile and stump up the £7 price to get, then got a programme and was even talked into getting a ticket for the golden goal!

Goole play their football in the First Division South of where they occupy 14th spot.
Their opponents today, however have a far better league record and sitting in third spot have aspirations of making the play off’s.

In front of a crowd of 95 people any hopes that Goole, aka The Vikings had of causing an upset were soon pushed to one side as Coalville opened the scoring inside the first ten minutes thanks to a header from Jordan Nadat.

Although Goole did find themselves at the right end of the field, new Shaq McKenzie was guilty of not playing in his team mates and holding onto the ball too long.

Coalville Town added a further two goals as the match finished 3 – 0 to Coalville, Glynn Cotton and Callum Woodward were both on target for the visitors.
