Braves Under 9s Fall Short Against West Hull

Beverley Braves came up short on Wednesday night despite a great effort in what was their first game in a fortnight against the green and golds of West who seemed to settle in the wet weather much quicker than their hosts.

Cain Robb on his debut for the club scored with his first touch of the ball and proved what an asset he’s going to be with a decent all round performance.

Alex Nuttall had a great game, punching holes through the middle ably assisted by his front row partner Rhys Wallan. Josh ‘the Hammer’ Hamlyn and Charlie Gay defended well throughout as did Ellis Gaden whilst the other tries were scored by Alexei Rawlings and a special effort down the sideline from Owen Miller, who beat several defenders on his way to the line.

Despite all these good performances, Lewis Bradley scooped the man of the match award with an outstanding display in both attack and defence showing a lot of hunger and determination.

Coach said ‘Too many overvalue what they are not and undervalue what they actually are’.
