Beverley Building Society Customers Choose The Jacob’s Well As Charity of the Month

Last month customers of the Beverley Building Society decided to vote for the Jacob’s Well Appeal as the local charity of the month and today Jermaine Trotman, Accounts Manager for the Beverley proudly presented a cheque for £250.

Beverley Building Society’s Charity of the Month project has been giving customers the opportunity to vote for their favorite local charity since January, so far donating a total of £1750. The initiative was implemented by the Society to provide much needed funding for local charities that rely on donations.

The Jacob’s Well Appeal aims to supply medical relief to those in need and to help the poor in Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa. By having around seventy volunteers, the Appeal is able to reach out to areas around the world that need the most help. The charity is also a useful resource to those who need extra support in our own neighbourhood.

The Beverley has had a strong bond with the local community for over one hundred years and plans to develop it further by continuing to take an active part.

Peter Myers, Chief Executive of Beverley Building Society said:

““At the Beverley Building Society we strive to achieve a family ethos, with close relationships between staff, members and the local community. As East Yorkshire’s only independent Building Society, we do not have to pay dividends to shareholders, instead we support local charities and community initiatives. If anyone would like to nominate a charity for inclusion in our monthly voting process, they can email michael.plaster@beverleybs.co.uk, telephone 01482 881510 or call in and speak to us”.
