Free Courses & Accreditations With Beverley Festival

(Folk, Acoustic Roots) has the answer to those wanting to get more out of their lives by gaining new skills, meeting new and making new friends.  It has been successful in obtaining funding from Awards for All – The Big Lottery Fund to put a project together called ‘Volunteering Together’ .

Between November 2011 and running up to the festival in June 2012, FREE Short Courses at times to suit, will take place locally and will be on offer to East Riding residents of all ages who are interested in learning about ‘Events’ related subjects. The courses will focus on  modules such as Stage Management, Sustainable Event Management, First Aid, Team Work, Customer Care, Equality & Diversity and Health & Safety and show how they fit into the Events Sector.

Apart from learning from the courses, those taking part will have the opportunity to put what they have learnt to good use and gain further experience by helping out at the next Beverley Festival or at other Events.

A limited number of short work placements in the festival office will also be available for those wishing to gain or brush up on administration skills leading up to the Beverley Festival which takes place Friday 15th to Sunday 17th June 2012.

Organisers will be planning all courses around people’s daily schedules. They are now asking for those interested to contact them to book their FREE courses so  Don’t Miss Out .

Mari Brown, project co-ordinator says “ our FREE courses are aimed at giving participants the opportunity to gain new transferable skills, meet new people, make new friends, encourage them to become involved in their local communities, with the festival and our Partners and gain real hands on experience in friendly, welcoming and fun settings”
