East Riding Events For National Family Week

is holding a number of events to celebrate National Family Week, starting with a fun day at the , Beverley, on Tuesday, 31 May.

The day runs from 10.30am – 12.30pm with a behind the scenes tour of the museum’s stores and the archive’s conservation workshop. Have a go at the mystery museum objects challenge and creative crafts. This session must be pre-booked.

Free health checks for families will be available, from 1-3pm, and from 6-8pm there are play activities for children and families.

There is also a beach sports day, on Bridlington south beach, from 1pm, with activities including kwik cricket, Frisbee and volleyball and a have-a-go archery session at Hornsea Primary School, from 10am-12noon.

For children under five, there will be a series of story time events taking place at libraries across the East Riding on Thursday, 2 June.

Wildlife enthusiasts will not want to miss the seabird spectacular taking place on Sunday, 5 June at Flamborough where, weather permitting, volunteers will be on the cliff top with telescopes to show visitors and passersby the seabirds nesting on the cliff ledges.

Sewerby Hall and Gardens and Flamborough Lighthouse will also be open to visitors for the summer season and have a wide range of activities and events on offer.
