Beavers Seconds Claim Top Spot With Good Home Win

Beverley RUFC 2nd XV beat Malton & Norton at claiming top spot in the Merit League.

The visitors arrived in Beverley having lost just one match all season. The Beavers wasted no time in getting stuck in and were soon in front.

Such was their performance and the importance was evident with the number of people watching from the sidelines.

Beverley in the end were just too good for their opponents’ who could do little to stop the direct running on Beverley’s number 8 .

It was Vaux who score the first of Beverley’s two tries after the home side were awarded a free kick inside the 5m line.

Vaux charged through the crowd, showing great power and determination Vaux against all the odds touched the ball down under the posts. Dave Brant added a second try for Beverley in the second half to seal the win.

Ian Archibald said;

“Today was a big challenge and the lads performed really well as a team.”

“We will take some time out and have a few drinks now and wait to see who we will face in the playoffs.”
