The Big G – ‘Grimpeurs Des Wolds 2010’

With the elite riders resting after the intense racing in Beverley Market Place, amateurs and enthusiasts were able to tackle the ‘Big G’ – Grimpeurs Des Wolds.

This is not a race but a personal challenge featuring over 600 riders from across the country. This year’s event saw over 500 sign up within days of the event being announced.

Riders can choose between three different routes which vary in length between 60, 100 and 160 Km.

This year for the first time riders were fitted with tags that recorded their times, these were supplied by local company Timing Specialists, the same company who timed the Beverley 10K and 10K running events.

The event was named in memory of Graeme Foster, a life member of Hull Thursday Racing Club, who was known to all as “Big G”.
