Beverley Ready for the Visit of Middlesbrough

Beverley RUFC entertain Middlesbrough RUFC at Beaver Park this Saturday in the National League 3 fixture (kick-off 2.15 p.m. In the corresponding fixture at Middlesbrough last October the Beavers lost narrowly 19-12 but felt very hard done by since they had the best of the game and but for a very questionable decision by an otherwise excellent referee, they would have won.

They will clearly be out for revenge this weekend and, following their excellent performance in beating high flying Sheffield Tigers at Dore Park last Saturday, they will be full of confidence.

Unfortunately the game at Sheffield resulted in a nasty looking rib injury to , and he is likely to be out for some weeks. Fortunately, the Beavers have been able to complete their second signing in a week having registered promising Hull full back or stand off , and he is added to the squad for the Middlesbrough game. It is likely that will move up to centre where he is equally at home and Harding will come in at full back.

who also took a knock on his knee last Saturday is recovering slowly and at present is doubtful.

Meanwhile, a rejuvenated 2nd XV, having beaten Goole 15-7 last Saturday, make the short trip to Hullensians for a friendly match in good heart. Coach was very pleasantly surprised at the talent displayed by some of last week’s team and is confident that some of his squad could well be pushing for a first team place later in the season.
