There will be a rare opportunity to enjoy the world-famous Royal Philharmonic Orchestra on Sunday 9 July at 3pm at Bridlington Spa, where they will also be joined by the East Riding Youth Orchestra, playing a selection of classical music inspired by the sea.

The festival was the biggest yet, reaching an audience of over 2,500 in two days almost quadruple since the first in 2015. The festival’s open exhibition has seen record numbers of entries from aspiring artists across the region and beyond in response to the theme ‘Culture’. Selected pieces have been chosen by the festival panel to create the exhibition within the Gallery at Bridlington Spa.
Thousands of spectators are expected to line the streets of the East Riding on Friday, 28 April as the 2017 Tour de Yorkshire gets underway in Bridlington before passing through East Yorkshire and taking in Driffield and Pocklington for the first time.
The ceremonial start takes place outside Bridlington Spa, at 12.35pm, before the riders leave the town, passing by East Riding Leisure Bridlington and out via the A614.

The Winmau World Masters darts championship is returning to Bridlington Spa this September featuring some of the world’s top darts players.
Taking place between Monday 25 September and Thursday 28 September, the tournament is scheduled to follow immediately after the British Darts Organisation Open Championship; meaning an extended stay in the town for players and spectators.
Another name has been added to the line-up for the two-day Tidal Waves Beach Music Festival in Bridlington in June: indie rock band The Pigeon Detectives from Leeds will be performing at the event at South Cliff beach, on Saturday 10 June.
