Maa Indian Restaurant Enjoys Highly Successful First Year

Maa Indian Restaurant in Beverley say their first 12 months of trading in the town have been a huge success exceeding all their expectations.

Next month will officially mark their first full year of trading, an event they are hoping customers will join them to celebrate at the restaurant.

Their food is Bangladeshi based, a fusion of  restaurant style cooking and traditional home cooked food found in a every Bangladeshi household.

Speaking to HU17.net, Taz Ahmed said;

“With what we put together as a business plan we have exceeded, both for our first six months as a survival plan and for our second six months.”

“We have got good links with the locals and word-of-mouth has just been absolutely brilliant. Anybody who mentions us speaks about how good our food and service is.”

“TripAvisor has also been instrumental in our success too with so many positive reviews. At weekends we are now so busy, that unless people are booked in we have no choice but to turn them away.”

Mr. Ahmed says that the most popular dish on the menu is their Maa’s Special Popeala, though customers are still able to tweak it to their own particular tastes.

He said;

“We cook everything from fresh. Some of customers like chicken while others prefer to have it made with King prawns. Because it’s done specifically to order we can do it however you want it done and as spicy as you like.”

There are some changes planed in for the new year, Mr. Ahmed said;

“After Christmas we will be looking to remove one or two dishes that do not move as well and reduce the size of the overall menu as it is vast.”

“We want to concentrate on more the are recipes that the chefs got rather than enough going back to basics and starting afresh.”

“We will build on what we’ve achieved here over the last 12 months.”

Mr. Ahmed hopes customers will join them on Thursday 2 November to celebrate their first anniversary, he said;

“It would be fantastic to mark our first year with our loyal customers who have helped make this business a success and a enjoy a glass of fizz on us.”
