Simpson Scores Big Putting Beverley Through To Next Round Of The Cup

On Sunday the Beverley Town Cricket Club 4th XI beat Skidby in the first round of the at the Norwood Recreation Ground.

This victory capped of a fine weekend for the fourth team, on Saturday a Fine Batting Performance by Thompson saw Beverley destroy Middleton.

Bowling first, Charlie Bough bowled well in tandem with Matty Saint and Jacob McMullen but Skidby still made a good start scoring 53 for the first wicket.

(2-13) made the breakthrough with two quick wickets. Charles Fish (1-19) again bowled well and Saint (1-21) and McMullen (2-24) returned to restrict Skidby to 101 for 6.

Richard Thompson (16) and Saint (17) got the start the 4ths required but at 39 for 3 Skidby were making the 4ths work hard for the win.

Captain Rich Simpson (40 no) and the promising Under 15 player Will Harrison (18 no) saw the 4ths home in the 16th over.
