“Unbelievable, what else can you say about that game, we were out of it and came back, what a great win for the club.”
Athletico player manager Daniel Williams said;

“Once again it was a great day organised by Stu Akester, and the team at Beverley Rugby Union Club.”

“I was surprised my team made it all the way to the final – big credit to each of them who carried me through most of our games!”

“I thought we’d won the trophy for a fourth time – leading 2-0 in the final with two minutes to go – until my old skipper Jonny Ricardo popped up and scored the kind of goal only he could.”

“It gave Town the drive they needed. Despite Rob Northen’s amazing last kick off the game equaliser, to make it 3-3 we were piped on penalties in a memorable final which, for me, summed up the day.”
