Humber Forest launches 25-year strategy to improve local environments, tackle climate change, and help local communities

Humber Forest, the community forest for Hull, East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire, has launched a new strategy for its work for the next 25 years.

It is committed to ensuring that it plants the ‘right tree in the right place for the right reason,’ and to working with communities, landowners and external agencies to increase tree cover and maintain existing woodland.

The daughter of Country legend Glen Campbell, Ashley Campbell cut her teeth playing in her father’s band and has since gone on to establish herself as a singer-songwriter in her own right, with Goodnight Nashville showcasing her clear-as-a-bell vocals, lyrical prowess and mesmerising banjo playing.

A new pop-up Winter Wellness Hub is launching at North Point Shopping Centre from 27 to 29 October, offering free childhood flu vaccines, interactive health education, and winter wellness giveaways to help the local community stay healthy this winter.

Organised by NHS Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) in partnership with Vaccinations UK, the hub invites everyone to “Say Boo to Flu” by learning more about staying well during winter and where to go if you need support or care.
