David Southwell, 65, from West Lane, Burton Fleming appeared for sentencing in Beverley Magistrates Court on Wednesday 13 August 2025, in relation to three animal welfare offences.  

Two providers of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) support in Hull are celebrating after being presented with certificates to recognise their efforts in promoting active and sustainable travel to staff and students.

Bridgeview, a special school for pupils with social, emotional, mental heath as well as communication and interaction needs, and the Whitehouse pupil referral unit, have both achieved ‘Approved Travel Plan’ awards through the Modeshift STARS Education Programme.

Significant improvement works to enhance accessibility at East Park have been completed, including the reopening on the main park gates on Holderness Road.

East Park now features additional parking spaces, including accessible spaces, a new footpath, new signs and lines for a new road layout with a one-way system and added speed tables.
