A new pop-up Winter Wellness Hub is launching at North Point Shopping Centre from 27 to 29 October, offering free childhood flu vaccines, interactive health education, and winter wellness giveaways to help the local community stay healthy this winter.

Organised by NHS Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) in partnership with Vaccinations UK, the hub invites everyone to “Say Boo to Flu” by learning more about staying well during winter and where to go if you need support or care.

Hull’s Family Hubs successfully passed Stage One of the UNICEF UK Baby Friendly Initiative accreditation, on the first attempt.

An essential scheme to improve the main road through the village of Little Kelk, near Driffield, is to begin in October.

A plaque commemorating the Hull Literary and Philosophical Society’s role in the cultural and educational history of the city over 200 years will be unveiled at the Museums Quarter this Thursday (9 October).

The plaque stands in front of three figures depicting Minerva in the Museums Quarter Gardens, that once stood on the pediment of the Royal Institution building in Albion Street, the home of the society from 1854 to 1943 and Hull’s Municipal Museum.

Hull City Council has taken a further step towards its climate goals and improving air quality with the introduction of its first fully electric food waste collection vehicle. 

The council’s waste management team is now operating the city’s largest electric vehicle to date – a brand-new 18-tonne electric truck dedicated to food waste collection.
