Stage4Beverley 2026 Winter Music Festival
February sees the return of the ever popular Stage4Beverley winter music festival which has become a major event in the town’s calendar offering music, comedy, and spoken word events as well as a dance for those with plenty of energy to expel.

East Riding developers fined for wilful damage of trees in a conservation area
On Wednesday 17 December local developers Wayne Low and Richmond Properties pleaded guilty at Beverley Magistrates Court, to causing or permitting the wilful damage of a sycamore tree and unauthorised felling of a pear tree. Both trees were located in Etton Conservation Area.
A pear tree was completely removed, and a sycamore tree had damaging works undertaken to it which reduced its amenity value and negatively impacted upon the conservation area.
Council serves closure orders on Bridlington and Beverley properties
East Riding of Yorkshire Council successfully secured a closure order on 139 South Back Lane in Bridlington, on Tuesday 16 December, at Beverley Magistrates Court.
This property had been causing issues in the community for some time, with alleged links to organised crime groups using this property as a base for dealing drugs.
Residents warned of fake parking charge texts
Residents are being warned of a parking charge text scam, where they are informed of bogus parking charges, encouraging them to pay immediately.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council does not send text messages about parking fines, and the texts are fraudulent.
Colliderfest returns to Hull in 2026 with bigger, bolder celebration of science and creativity
Following the resounding success of its debut earlier this year, ColliderFest is set to return to Hull city centre from Thursday 12 to Sunday 15 March 2026, promising an even more dynamic celebration of science, creativity, and culture.

East Riding village Hall receives King’s Award for Voluntary Service
A village hall, supported by East Riding of Yorkshire Council, has received the highest award available to local voluntary groups.
Sancton Village Hall was awarded the King’s Award for Voluntary Service for 2025, equivalent to an MBE. Trustees and volunteers worked for more than 25 years to bring the hall back from a derelict shell to a busy and thriving centre for the village and surrounding area.
Campaign event to end violence against women and girls held at Bridlington Spa
More than 150 residents and businesses attended an important event dedicated to ending men’s violence against women and girls, held on Wednesday 10 December at Bridlington Spa.
