Visitors to Hull Museums are invited to experience a traditional Victorian Christmas in the Museums Quarter on Saturday 26 November from 10 am to 4 pm.
Taking place in partnership with HullBID (Business Improvement District) and Whitefriargate High Street Heritage Action Zone, Magic of Christmas will feature a variety of activities and performances.
To commemorate the centenary of the Armistice on 11 November 1918, which brought an end to the First World War, Hull Museums and the Hull History Centre are showcasing archives and collections relating to the conflict.
The incredible archive includes photographs, first-person accounts of the war and one of the ceramic poppies that appeared in last year’s Weeping Willow display outside the Maritime Museum.
For the first time children will be able to access a fully functioning art studio that can accommodate a full class enabling them to gain a real insight into what it’s like to be an artist.
Inspired by the Ferens’ outstanding permanent and temporary exhibitions the pupils will explore the processes and skills of painting, drawing, sculpture or printmaking.
