On Thursday 4 July, there will be by-elections in East Wolds and Coastal Ward and South East Holderness Ward.
Two councillors resigned, leading to the by-election. Residents in these wards can also elect their local councillors by voting in the parliamentary election.

Cotton-Top Tamarin monkeys Consuela and Maurice are nurturing tiny twins . Stock Skills prepares students for a large country show by preparing them for a variety of tasks. Each student prepares for the event by practicing grooming and clipping skills, and ensuring the animal’s diet means it is in optimum condition. They compete in Dairy, Sheep, Goat, and Equine classes. Competing requires the development of specialist skills and knowledge that can also be transferred to the workplace.

Following a successful bid to the Government to fund electric buses in Hull and the East Riding, Hull City Council’s cabinet has approved plans to enable the purchase of 40 electric buses and the allocation of circa £2million of funding from the authority for the installation of charging infrastructure to support the rollout of the vehicles in the city, including for the use of local bus operators and the council’s own fleet of passenger vehicles.
Tesco Community Grants have funded thousands of local community projects across the UK, helping schools, junior sports teams, foodbanks, charities and community groups. Since 2016 almost a hundred local projects voted on in Tesco’s Beverley store have received over £190,000 in grants.

A Charity Footgolf Day has scored a hole-in-one at its third ever event, raising more than the previous two years’ fundraising days combined!
The 360 Grass Roots Foundation and Hull & East Yorkshire Powerchair Football Club, who teamed up to host the event, raised £3,466 in profit this year. Around 150 people took part, with 31 teams entering, more than ever before. For the first time, they also invited hole sponsors. It’s proved a winning formula, with the record amount being split equally between both causes
