The City Of Hull Maintains Its Top 10 Ranking For Cycling Training For Children
Hull has maintained its status as one of the country’s top locations for the delivery of cycle training to children, according to new figures from The Bikeability Trust.
Between April 2023 and March 2024, 92% of Year 6 pupils in the city received either Level 1 and 2 or Level 2 Bikeability training (3,212 children, in total), putting Hull in the top 10 alongside Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, Plymouth City Council, Kirklees Council, Warrington Borough Council, North Lincolnshire Council, North East Lincolnshire Council, Lancashire County Council, Cambridgeshire County Council and Leeds City Council.

Tesco Beverley Continues To Help Fight Food Poverty in East Yorkshire
Tesco’s Beverley store has been working with the Trussell Trust’s East Yorkshire Foodbank for over eight years to help fight hunger in our local area.
The store has a permanent collection point for customer donations which in the last three months alone has resulted in almost three thousand meals going to local people in need. Tesco also helps by making an annual contribution to Trussell Trust.

Beverley Grand Prix Hailed A Success As Hundreds Of Cyclists Take Part
The Beverley Grand Prix, presented by Wren Kitchens, was a fantastic success; hundreds of cyclists raced around the town centre, for six hours of cycling events from four to 10pm. It was the first such event in the town since 2017.
The event featured six rides and races, including the finale of the British Cycling National Circuit Series, which was won by Matthew Bostock, of Ribble Rebellion

Yorkshire Wolds Businesses Raise £5,000 For Charity
The teams at a Thixendale rapeseed oil business and a Hunmanby brewery put their best foot forward for a sponsored walk recently, raising £5000 for charity.
Teams from Breckenholme (including representatives from Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil, Charlie & Ivy’s, and The Honest Bean Co) and Wold Top Brewery met at Breckenholme Farm in Thixendale to walk 31 miles across the Yorkshire Wolds to Hunmanby Grange, home to Wold Top.

People in East Riding are being cautioned about the use of fake versions of the drug Ozempic.
Ozempic is a drug prescribed to people with type 2 diabetes in order to lower their blood sugar levels, with the active ingredient semaglutide. However a global alert has been issued by the World Health Organisation (WHO) about fake versions being circulated to people to help lose weight.
