A series of CCTV cameras using AI technology are being installed at hotspots across the East Riding in the fight against fly-tipping.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council is fitting high-tech towers of CCTV cameras at sites in Cottingham, Hessle, Boynton near Bridlington and Rawcliffe near Goole, in a bid to catch any fly-tippers in the act on film.

Mr Ahmed Abdulrahman of Scarborough Road, Filey, appeared at Beverley Magistrates Court on Wednesday 25 June and pleaded guilty to nine food safety and hygiene offences. Work to implement a new 20mph zone in Hull’s Old Town area, as part of the safety improvement scheme for Lowgate, has been given the greenlight to progress by Hull City Council.
The new 20mph zone aims to reduce the risk of accidents for all road users near Hull College and the retail and entertainment venues located between George Street and the A63 Castle Street. The zone will also cover Savile Street, Vernon Street, Queens Dock Avenue, Princes Dock Street, Guildhall Road, Alfred Gelder Street and the side streets off Lowgate that border the River Hull, which are home to a number of businesses that form part of the night-time economy.

Carl will take up the post on 21 July and joins WISHH from Hull based NAPA (the Northern Academy of Performing Arts) where he has been Chief Executive for 6 years. He brings extensive experience in charity leadership, fundraising, and public engagement. Prior to his role at NAPA, he was a familiar voice as a senior BBC presenter and journalist.
