Performers in Hull will join world renowned circus company Circa as they bring their internationally acclaimed production Depart to Hull’s General Cemetery.
Depart will transform Hull’s General Cemetery to create a spell-binding and immersive show as part of the Roots and Routes season at Hull UK City of Culture 2017.

Humberside Police are appealing to the public following the theft of a mobility scooter form outside a property on Morton Lane in Beverley.
In a statement released, a spokesperson for the police said while the scooter has been recovered they are keen to track down a man seen riding on it.

Beverley and Holderness MP Graham Stuart has condemned a new EU Regulation that threatens the livelihoods of Holderness coast beach fishermen and has written to the Fisheries Minister, George Eustice, to ask him to pursue an exemption for Holderness.
The Regulation includes a total ban on targeted sea bass fishing from the shore, jeopardising the future of men like Shaun Wingham, who fishes near Withernsea using the centuries-old practice of onshore fishing, whereby a net is stretched out along the shoreline at low tide and the catch is brought in when it retreats again. Sea bass is the most valuable part of their haul.
