Big Tops At 2017 Beverley Folk Festival

Beverley Folk festival is promising big changes at their 2017 event promising their ‘biggest and best festival ever’.

In 2016 the festival introduced a ‘Big Top’ style marquee for their popular Concert Stage and now in 2017 they plan to introduce another Big Top for their Main Stage as well.

Unpaid Carers Are A Top Priority For Health And Wellbeing Board

Work being carried out to support unpaid carers in the East Riding and the resources available to help them in their caring roles is due to be discussed by the area’s Health and Wellbeing Board.

In 2011 there were over 37,000 carers providing one or more hours of unpaid care per week in the East Riding, 8,500 of whom were providing 50 hours or more of care.

Tickton Bridge Closed To Wide Vehicles For 12 Weeks

Tickton Bridge, on the A1035 road to Beverley, is to be closed to extra wide vehicles only, for 12 weeks to allow for important repairs to be carried out.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council contractors will begin work on Monday 13 March on a scheme to replace the metal safety railings, known as parapets, on either edge of the bridge, over the River Hull and Barmston Drain.

Joint Investigation To Take Place Following House Fire On Beverley Road

Humberside Police were called by Humberside Fire and Rescue Service at 6.23am today (Friday 10 March) requesting assistance with road closures following a serious house fire and subsequent explosion on Beverley Road, Hull.

A man from the property has been taken to Hull Royal Infirmary with serious injuries. Three fire officers are believed to have sustained minor injuries.
