Old School House Care Home First in Yorkshire to be Rated Outstanding

The Old School House in New Walkergate, Beverley, has become the first registered council-run care home in Yorkshire to be rated as “outstanding” after the Care Quality Commission (CQC) conducted an unannounced inspection.

The East Riding of Yorkshire Council-run care home maintained its outstanding rating in the “Well Led” section when the CQC visited the premises on 21 and 22 March and the support provided was rated as “outstanding” in the “Effective” and “Caring” categories.

A full house for OUR HOUSE has been announced, with street dancing sensation George Sampson confirmed to join the UK Tour of the Olivier Award-winning musical, at Bridlington Spa Monday 16 to Saturday 21 October.

Having won the second season of Britain’s Got Talent with his interpretation of Singing in the Rain, George has gone on to star in major films (Street Dance 2 and Street Dance 3D) and regular roles in Emmerdale (ITV), Waterloo Road (BBC), and Mount Pleasant (Sky). Playing the role of local bad boy Reecey, George joins previously announced cast members Deena Payne (Kath Casey), Jason Kajdi (Joe Casey) and Sophie Matthew (Sarah).

Beverley Based Drag Racer Looks To Defend National Championship Title

Chris Parker continues the defence of his UK National Championship title in the Super Pro ET class this weekend at the FIA/FIM Main Event at Santa Pod Raceway in Northamptonshire.

Chris, 44 who lives in Beverley, East Yorkshire with his wife and team crew-chief Rebecca, won the 2016 UK National Championship title in just his second season driving in the sport, at the final round of the championship last September.

Local bus company EYMS has announced that its popular Moors Explorer bus from Hull, Hessle, Cottingham and Beverley to the North York Moors will run again during Summer 2017.

Moors Explorer is the only direct public transport route up to the North York Moors from the Hull and East Riding area, and is especially loved by ramblers, who use it to access parts of the Moors which are otherwise inaccessible for those without a car.
