East Riding residents are being reminded to trim their own private hedges and trees which overhang paths and roads to prevent them from causing an obstruction.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s streetscene enforcement team said overgrown vegetation can become a nuisance or even a danger to pedestrians, cyclists and drivers if it overhangs, obstructs or blocks visibility on the public highway.

The Brough Seaplane completion was created to mark the centenary of the BAE Brough site and also inspire young people in schools to embrace engineering. Council Leads The Way In Promoting Private Hire Safety

Private hire firms in the East Riding are one of the first in the country to take part in a mandatory accreditation scheme designed to promote public safety and raise standards.

The private hire operators’ accreditation scheme has been implemented by East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s licensing team and will see operators display a star rating, similar to the food hygiene ratings given to food outlets.
