Pumpkin Competition Held By Market Traders Attracts Spook-Tacular Entries

Beverley’s Saturday Market Traders attracted some scarily good entries for a Halloween pumpkin competition they held last week.

Entries to the pumpkin competition included a giant head, a skeleton and also an owl. Market traders added to the occasion with a specially-themed stall that was decorated with a Halloween theme.

Budget is Nothing More Than ‘Smoke and Mirrors’ Say Local Labour Party

Beverley’s Labour Party members have hit out at the Budget branding it nothing more than ‘smoke and mirrors’ adding it will fuel poverty.

Labour’s comments come after the Phillip Hammond delivered his 2018 Autumn Budget. In the budget additional money for schools,  defence, the NHS and local authorities was all made available by the Chancellor.

Beverley Racecourse Sees Increase In Punters As 80,000 Attend In 2018

Beverley Racecourse enjoyed an impressive 6% rise in visitor numbers in 2018 as 80,000 people attended its meetings to watch the thrilling action unfold.

That strong performance came despite it clashing with the World Cup, with England and Sweden locking horns on a key race day. It has filled chief executive Sally Iggulden with a great deal of optimism ahead of the 2019 season and she believes the course will continue to go from strength to strength.
