Victims of domestic abuse in the East Riding are being encouraged to seek advice and support during the Christmas period, when cases of domestic abuse tend to rise.
Residents who feel concerned for their own or someone else’s safety during the Christmas period are encouraged to reach out to the East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Domestic Violence and Abuse Partnership (DVAP).
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has joined up with other councils in Yorkshire and the Humber to launch a Christmas campaign aimed at giving adults tips, advice and support to help keep relationships positive over the festive period.
Audio adverts will run across the Bauer Radio network in December and will support adults looking for practical ways to build healthy relationships, through the Relationships Matter website.

A Yorkshire man has raised more than £1,500 for Alzheimer’s Research UK after completing the Yorkshire Marathon in honour of his sister, who is living with a rare inherited form of dementia and is cared for at Beechwood Care Centre in the town.
