Hessle-based digital marketing agency, Eyeweb, has announced their plan to tackle a walking marathon from Brough to Hornsea to raise funds for local charity NHS Health Stars.
The walk will take place in one day on Friday, 26 September 2025, covering 26.2 miles of Hull and the East Yorkshire countryside.
The Hull and East Yorkshire Local Nature Partnership, in collaboration with East Riding Libraries, is once again running its popular Nature Photography Competition for 2025.
Building on the success of last year’s contest, which drew over 100 entries, this year’s competition invites photographers and nature enthusiasts to showcase their talent and passion.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council is inviting comments on a draft supplementary planning document (SPD) on planning obligations. The consultation will be open from Monday 8 September until 11.59 on Monday 20 October.
Supplementary planning documents provide more detailed advice and guidance on the application of policies in a Local Plan. This draft SPD will complement the policies in the East Riding Local Plan Update, which was adopted in April 2025.
Invest East Yorkshire’s Business Support Services team has secured more than £500,000 of government funding through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and the Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF), to support local businesses with a range of grants.
Grants of up to £50,000 are available to support business growth projects. Funding can be used for capital investment such as new equipment or machinery, farm diversification, the creation of new tourism accommodation, and carbon reduction projects including solar energy.

Pensioners are targeted by a text message inviting them to make an application to claim the Winter Fuel Payment. The text contains a link to a fake website with an application form that requests personal information, including bank details.

Beverley Theatre Company (BTC) are pleased to announce that their next production will be a brand new play telling the story of Jack the Ripper and his victims. Written by BTC members Anthony Musgrave and Nev Slater, who wrote the very well-received version of Dracula that sold-out at ERT in 2023, the storyline is a mixture of fact and fiction, giving the victims of Jack the Ripper a voice and telling us their perspective on events.
