Colourful Characters Helping Children Return To School Confidently

A mental health nurse and social worker have written a series of books to help children understand their mental health and wellbeing, which they say will be vital in preparing youngsters to return to school in September after living through the lockdown. 

The co-founders of Hull-based business Inspire Ignite, Sue Altass and Hannah Cheshire are experts in children’s mental health, with over 40 years of combined experience between them.

New figures published by NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) show that last year (2019/20) 1,580 people in the UK donated their organs after they died. In East Riding Of Yorkshire, 11 people gave the gift of life, by donating their organs after death.

The national deceased organ donor figures were on course to surpass the previous year’s total, but unfortunately, the global COVID-19 pandemic hit in March and had a wide-reaching impact across the whole NHS and every aspect of UK society.

Skidby Historic Windmill & Museum Re-Opens To Public

Skidby windmill which was built in 1821, and is the home of the Museum of East Riding Rural Life, is due to open its doors again on Monday, 20 July after being closed during the lockdown.

The mill’s opening hours will remain the same as before: Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday 10.00am-5.00pm, closed for lunch 12.30pm-1.00pm, last admissions at 4.15pm. These times may be subject to change.
