Michael Gove MP Visits St Nicholas School

Conservative candidates for the Minster and Woodmansey Ward met with Secretary of State for eduction and MP when Michael visited St Nicholas School in .

Cllr questioned the Secretary of State about several issues including the funding for pupils in the East Riding which under the last government was allowed to slip well below the national average. Also raised was the good work that is done at the Beverley Children’s Centre and all the candidates gained assurance from Mr Gove that the funding will remain.

Cllr David Elvidge solicited support for St Nicholas school explaining the problems raised by OFSTED and the focus on the split site issue over which the school has no control.
