Major Legal Move Boosts Lincoln as Wilkin Chapman Rollits Expands with Strategic Acquisition

A leading regional law firm has made a bold move to strengthen its presence in Lincoln, marking another milestone in its rapid growth strategy.

Wilkin Chapman Rollits has officially acquired Nottingham-based Legal Recoveries and Collections Ltd (LRC), in a deal completed on April 1—exactly one year after the landmark merger between Wilkin Chapman LLP and Rollits LLP.

The acquisition is set to significantly boost the firm’s recoveries division, with projected turnover rising to around £9 million. It also signals a clear ambition: to expand both its regional strength and national reach.

Eight specialist staff from LRC have now joined the firm, forming a dedicated recoveries team in Lincoln for the very first time. The team will be based at the Maltings on Brayford Wharf East, further cementing the firm’s growing footprint in the city.

For Chris Grocock, senior partner and head of recoveries, the move represents far more than a routine business deal.

“This is a significant investment in our Lincoln office,” he said. “By bringing in LRC’s experienced team, we are strengthening our ability to support clients with complex, high-volume recovery needs—both regionally and across the UK.”

LRC brings more than 20 years of expertise in recoveries, litigation and enforcement, along with strong client relationships in sectors such as healthcare, education and commercial services. The integration is expected to enhance the firm’s capabilities across these key industries.

Among those joining are LRC directors Rachel Rowbotham and Claire Stocks, who step into senior associate roles within the expanded team.

Rowbotham described the move as a natural fit.

“Joining Wilkin Chapman Rollits is an exciting step,” she said. “Our approach has always been centred on strong client relationships, and we’ve already seen how closely that aligns with the firm’s values. We’re looking forward to building on that and continuing to support both existing and new clients.”

With more than 520 staff and partners across offices in Grimsby, Lincoln, Louth, Hull, York and Beverley, Wilkin Chapman Rollits is one of the region’s largest legal and insolvency firms.

This latest acquisition not only strengthens its service offering but also positions Lincoln as an increasingly important hub for legal expertise—highlighting the city’s growing role in the UK’s professional services landscape.
