Beverley’s Push to Bag UK Town of Culture – Residents Urged to Have Their Say!

Beverley could soon be Britain’s next big cultural hotspot – but local MP Graham Stuart is calling on residents to make sure the town’s voice is heard.

The historic market town, famed for its stunning Minster, bustling streets, and world-class racecourse, is throwing its hat into the ring for the UK Town of Culture crown. And Graham isn’t leaving it to chance – he’s launched a survey to gather local opinions and show just how much Beverley matters to the people who live there.

From the East Riding Theatre to buzzing festivals, independent shops, musicians, artists, and community groups, Beverley’s cultural scene is alive and kicking. A successful bid would supercharge that, supporting a year of events, drawing in visitors, and boosting the local economy.

Graham is teaming up with Mayor Alison Healy and local councillor Denis Healy to drum up support and make sure Beverley’s bid has teeth.

“Beverley is a special place,” Graham said. “It’s not just our history – it’s the culture we live every day. This survey is a chance for residents to tell us what they love and what they want to see in the future. Strong local backing could make all the difference.”

Residents have until 3rd April to have their say online at grahamstuart.com/Beverley.

If Beverley wins, it’s set to become a cultural magnet – and now the town’s fate is literally in the hands of its people.
