A project to improve a section of a road and footpath in Goole is due to begin in November.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council will invest £196,000 in a scheme to upgrade Seavy Road in Goole, between the junctions of Anderson Road and Grange Road.

The work is scheduled to take place during daytime hours, starting on Monday 3 November, and is expected to take up to six weeks to complete.

The scheme will involve resurfacing the existing road and footpath, the installation of new kerbing and drainage channels, and the replacement of drain covers.

To allow the work to be carried out safely, Seavy Road will be closed to all through-traffic, with a signed diversion route put in place via Grange Road, Dunhill Road, Boothferry Road, Rawcliffe Road and Anderson Road.

Access to properties within the area will be maintained at all times.

The work will be carries out by the council’s own road maintenance team.

Councillor Paul West, the council’s cabinet member for environment and transport, said: “Thank you to local residents, businesses and drivers for their cooperation and patience while we carry out these improvements to Seavy Road.”
