There has been a rebranding of Tapasya on Holderness Road to Ruthvika Spices and Kitchen.

The restaurant serves well-known favourites and signature dishes, as well as grilled main dishes, curries, and vegan and vegetarian options.

A new name and rebrand represent ’s new direction.

The Ruthvika restaurant is aptly named after the goddess of knowledge, , art, speech, wisdom and learning.

Ayurvedic medicine is combined with expert knowledge of Indian food and lessons from the world’s best restaurants.

Ruthivka’s owner, Mukesh Tirkoti, explains:

“Business continues to increase as customers become familiar with what’s on offer and after a year and a half in this location, we felt the time was right to establish our new identity.

“We’ve been getting to know the local community, and people’s tastes and have experimented with brand-new dishes which are unique to this restaurant.

“In the UK, Indian deserts are less popular than savoury dishes. Our chefs have tried out new ideas, getting the seal of approval from regular guests. Ruthvika’s dessert menu includes ingredients  from beetroot and rice to figs and doughnuts as well as our own artisan ice cream.”

“It’s been wonderful to find that people travel from around the region especially to eat here, especially when there are so many Indian restaurants. People from North Lincolnshire and around East Yorkshire choose us to experience original spice blends which create unique flavours.”

The restaurant also supplies exclusive Indian spices imported from suppliers in India. While some ingredients are well-known and popular, others, lesser known, are affordable, enabling people to create memorable occasions, sharing happiness, comfort, chatting, and laughing.

The thali includes a starter, a main dish, and a dessert of your choice. Several restaurants offer this, but Mukesh Tirkoti was the first to offer it as a takeaway, making it a favourite with business clients.

Mukesh continues:

“We opened Tapasya Spices and Kitchen just after lockdown, as takeaway only. This side of the business has developed and continues to grow each month, mainly via word of mouth as more and more customers tell their friends and family.

“Outside catering has also become a large part of the business, with various events over the last 12 months, our chefs cater events from 20 – 350 guests.

“A recent addition to the restaurant is the Chef’s Table, a private area for 15 people in front of the open kitchen to view the masters at work.

“The rebrand is a sign of positive things to come. Watch this space for news about more features on offer at Ruthvika.”
