Christopher White has been named Chief Financial Officer at Beverley Building Society, subject to regulatory approval.
He replaces Janet Bedford, who was promoted to the role of Society Chief Executive, at Beverley Building Society.
As a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, Christopher has considerable experience in financial services and building societies.
He was a building society assurance specialist at PwC for seven years. Then he spent ten years as Chief Financial Officer at Darlington Building Society.
Commenting on the appointment Janet said:
“The Board is delighted to appoint such an accomplished financial service professional with significant executive and board-level experience in the building society sector.”
“Christopher clearly has a proven track record in helping to drive growth across commercial and operational areas, through the delivery of a proactive financial strategy.”
“We are confident that he will play a significant part in strengthening our financial position within our East Riding heartland and nationally.”
“The Beverley is a traditional building society that provides an outstanding personal service and a flexible, common-sense approach to lending, together with great value savings products.”
“This appointment is another key step in our strategic plan to build on these impressive foundations.”
Chief Financial Officer Excited To Be Joining Beverley Building Society
East Yorkshire’s best-kept secret has long been its ethos of common-sense lending in an era of computer-aided decision-making.
With this strategy, Beverley Building Society attracts loyal and also increasingly diverse customers. These include those who do not meet the standard – and increasingly challenging – mortgage criteria.
There are a variety of mortgage options available to you with us, including first-time buyer lending, self-employment lending, family support, mortgages for older borrowers, and mortgages for unusual properties.
“I am really excited to be joining the Beverley and am looking forward to leading the Society’s Finance Department.”
“A really important part of the Society’s next phase of development is growing its membership and mortgage book.”
“I look forward to helping its team achieve this in line with its mutual principles and founding purpose of Building Better Futures.”
