After the success of the recent Military Assistance Social Hub (MASH) in Bridlington, MASH will now be rolled out to other towns in East Yorkshire.

Beverley will see the launch of the next MASH, on Tuesday, 26 April, at the Foresters Arms, Beckside, from 13.30 to 16.00.

MASH can offer activities to suit all ages for dependants and serve personnel in a friendly atmosphere, a chance to meet with people who have experienced the same lifestyles – it’s a one-stop-shop that can offer a list of help available from service charities and East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

The council have signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant, which ensures that service and veteran families are not disadvantaged due to their roles in the Armed Forces.

Martin Barmby GCGI, Royal Navy and Territorial Army Veteran, said:

“We hope that Beverley will be as successful as Bridlington’s MASH, and with Leconfield being nearby, it is an excellent opportunity to ensure that Beverley benefits from the introduction of MASH.

“MASH, and MASH the next generation, for younger veterans, have a presence on Facebook and other social media, to give people an idea of what goes on. Please follow and keep up to date!”

Councillor , East Riding of Yorkshire Council portfolio holder for community involvement and the voluntary sector, added:

“Following on from the success of the Bridlington MASH, I am delighted to welcome a similar facility to Beverley.

“The whole of the Armed Forces Community will benefit from being able to access a facility where they can join with their peers, to simply chat, socialise, renew old friendships and make new ones.”

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the stakeholders who came together to make this a reality and wish everyone the success they deserve.”
