The will make the relatively short trip up to York this Saturday to face Heworth for the match at Elmpark Way.

The game, which will kick off at 2.30PM was a standout one when the fixtures were released, being the nearest thing to a derby.

Last weekend’s close victory at home to Dewsbury Celtic, provided the first league points of the season and a lift for everyone in the camp.

Coach Sam French is hoping the win will be the impetus for the club to kick on.

He was also impressed with the way everyone worked for each-other in turning around a 12-4 halftime deficit.

Unfortunately, the win did not come without cost. In form forward Dan Smart is now looking at a lengthy spell on the sidelines, going on the early diagnosis of a knee injury.

On top of this, the club has a number of positive Covid tests. With this in mind, the club had tried to re-arrange the fixture but an agreement for a fresh date could not be reached.

Unlike last season, there is no provision for cancelling an NCL fixture on the grounds of Covid, without sanctions.

Sam French is likely to delay naming his side until close to kick-off.

The bus for players and supporters will depart from at 12.15pm.
