St Pauls Church in Tickton is holding a Scarecrow Hunt in the village this weekend which will feature over 50 scarecrows.

Taking place over two days on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th July. It will run from 10am until 4pm on both days respectively.

Event Organiser Pauline Jeffery says that St Paul’s Church and also the wider community are certainly looking forward to the event.

Commenting on the event she said;

 “This is the first fundraising event that we have been able to hold for 18 months as a result of the pandemic.”

“Everyone involved with the church and the wider community is looking forward to the event.”

“On both days there will be refreshments on sale and stalls. Due to COVID, we have put the stalls outside while refreshments will be offered behind the church.”

“Maps will also be on sale at both ends of the village detailing the location of the scarecrows. The maps will show where you can find the scarecrows dotted around the village. It also shows you where to find the clues for the children’s scarecrow hunt.”

Scarecrows Event Organiser Thanks People For Their Support

Tickton’s Scarecrow Hunt has been established for twelve years. The event itself is held every two years to raise vital funds for the church.

Pauline added;

“Over the years there have been some wonderful and creative ideas. Some that spring to mind are Harry Potter, Snow White and even the Olympics. However, my personal favourite was the May Pole dancers.”

“I would like to thank everyone in the village. Many people have either donated prizes, baked cakes or put time into making this event happen.”

“On behalf of the Church, I would also like to thank Colletta & Tyson who have donated a number of plants which will be sold over the weekend.”
