February will have a few favourites at the Orangery at Sewerby Hall and Gardens with a selection of wide-ranging concerts.

On Sunday, 2 February at 1.30pm Peter Bull will play a variety of traditional instruments, including the hurdy-gurdy, bagpipes, dulcimer, recorders, flute and lute.

Peter, who also sings, gives formal and informal concerts, performing at banquets, pageants, weddings, private parties and living history events.

Rae Todd and Christina Waldock, on Sunday, 9 February at 1.30pm, will perform an exciting clarinet and cello duo, bringing verve and communicative depth to their adventurous and eclectic repertoire.

Hull indie-folk band The Nocturnal Flowers will offer hooks, melodies and choruses telling of love, loss and despair on Sunday, 16 February at 1.30pm. With travels as far as London, Nottingham and Manchester, Sewerby Hall and Gardens would appear to be a spiritual home for the band. The concert will be supported by Colin Metcalfe.

Bringing the month to a close will be Que Vive Duo, who will perform on Sunday, 23 February at 1.30pm. A piano duo, they are two ex-music teachers who have been performing – chiefly at stately homes – classical, romantic and even jazz for over 20 years.
