Beverley Tesco is encouraging people in Beverley to support ’s Race for Life. They want people to pop into the store Tesco store to see it ‘turn pink’ on Saturday 6 April.

A nationwide event, Tesco Turns Pink’sees thousands of Tesco employees unite across the UK to raise vital funds to help beat cancer.

Staff at the Morton Lane store are set to embark on a variety of fun fundraising activities in-store.

Shoppers will also have the opportunity to find out more about joining their local Race for Life events. This includes the 5k event at Costello Stadium in Hull which takes place on Sunday 7 July.

There will also be a chance for customers to bag a limited number of free entry places to their local Race for Life event.

Gavin Haslam, Beverley Tesco Store Manager, said;

“Our ‘Tesco Turns Pink’ event is a fantastic way for colleagues and customers alike to support Tesco’s partnership with Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life. It’s also a great opportunity to come together to raise vital funds for the charity.”

 “Our team is made up of 25 members of staff. We have committed to take part because we all know someone whose life has been touched by the disease.”

Tesco has been the proud partner of Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life for 18 years.

Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life, in partnership with Tesco, is an inspiring series of 5k, 10k, Pretty Muddy®  and Pretty Muddy® Kids events.

Collectively they help raise millions of pounds every year to help beat cancer by funding crucial research.

This year, for the first time ever, Cancer Research UK is inviting everyone – women, men and children – to join the Race for Life events.

Race For Life Means Everyone Can Make A Difference

Thanks to everyone who raises money, Cancer Research UK is able to support research to fight 200 types of cancer.

The good news is more people are surviving the disease than ever before. Cancer survival in the UK has doubled since the early 1970s. Furthermore, Cancer Research UK’s work has been at the heart of that progress.
