Beverley Community Lift Look To Boost Funds With Piggy Race Night

Beverley Community Lift are looking for people to join them for what they say will be a ‘cracklin’ good fun evening at they host a ‘Piggy Race Night’. 

Taking place on Friday 3 August from 7.00PM at Armstrong’s Social Club in Beverley, funds raised on the night will go towards a new community transport minibus.

Beverley Community Lift, a group who provide a vital service for people in Beverley and the surrounding area rely on events like this to help fund their projects.

CEO of charity, Jan Stainforth, explained more about the event, she said;

“There will eight races, with eight fluffy, pink, battery-powered piggies oinking, snuffling and wiggling their snouts and curly tails as they go down the racetrack for each race. It’s great fun to watch, and the excitement really builds as people encourage their piggies across the finishing line.”

“We are looking for sponsors for each of the eight races. Race sponsorship costs just £10 and you can choose the name of the race. It’s a good way for businesses to promote their company, or for people to give a name check to someone special.”

“Each piggy can also be sponsored for £3, and we look forward to some great piggy names – ‘Cracklin’ Rosie’ is just one suggested so far.”

“So come along and join us for a really fun family event. There’s also a raffle, and drinks can be purchased from the Armstrong’s Club bar.”

Tickets are £10 in advance, and include a hot roast pork butty and chips, with vegetarian options available on request.

Jan has announced that she will be leaving Beverley Community Lift on 31st August, to follow a new career path, and this event will be her final one before she leaves the charity.

Jan said;

“I am hoping that everyone will get behind me and support this fun event, so I can raise as much money as possible for the charity as I leave.”
