Hull and East Yorkshire Children’s University say they are delighted to announce that they have teamed up with St John of Beverley RC Primary School.

Hull and East Yorkshire Children’s University (HEY CU) specialises in bringing classroom learning to life, while helping to raise the aspirations by providing a wide range of unique experiences.

Pupils from St John of Beverley RC Primary School will enjoy their first experience in the coming days as they get to explore the diversity of jobs available within Humberside Fire & Rescue Service.

Hull and East Yorkshire Children’s University Team Up With Beverley SchoolLisa Whitton, East Riding Manger of Hull & East Yorkshire Children’s University said;

“It’s fantastic to team up with Humberside Fire and Rescue Service to deliver this experience for St John of Beverley RC Primary, which gives children an insight to the Fire Service and the variety of career opportunities to aspire to in the future, whilst learning important fire and road safety messages.”

“Activities throughout the day will highlight all areas of the National Curriculum and key skills including the importance of team work, communication and problem solving.”

“I feel this experience will bring learning to life for all the children involved, who will leave the experience feeling more confident and new aspirations for their future.”

Jamie Morris, Education and Development Centre Manager, Humberside Fire and Rescue Service, said;

“Humberside Fire and Rescue Service are extremely pleased to be supporting Hull & East Yorkshire Children’s University in the delivery of the experience day.”

“The day provides a unique opportunity for children to learn key safety messages through their active participation in a range of workshops, while developing a greater insight into the role of the Fire Service within the community.”

“The Education and Development Centre welcome the children and look forward to providing a memorable and worthwhile experience.”

Pupils will travel by coach to fire station where they will be split into ‘watches’ before being put through their paces in what will be a hands on day.

“We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank the East Coast Community Fund provided by Ørsted for their support of Hull and East Yorkshire Children’s University and for providing the transport for this experience.”
