On Saturday 24 March, York Theatre Royal will be bursting with talented teenagers as over 300 of Yorkshire’s young choreographers and dancers come together to perform.

Featuring youth dance companies from every corner of Yorkshire, FRESH is Yorkshire Dance’s annual showcase of the region’s most talented young dancers. Yorkshire Dance champions the development of dance in Yorkshire and this year, 20 companies will perform to an audience of over 800 people.

East Ridings very own Youth Dance County Company, LWHS and Hull Dance Youth Company are set to perform to an audience of over 800 people.

The day is packed full of workshops covering a range of styles including House, Contemporary Dance and ‘STOMP’ style percussive dance.

The companies performing at Fresh 2018 were selected by an independent panel of dance experts at smaller regional showcases around Yorkshire earlier this year, and from film submissions sent to Yorkshire Dance.

Joining LWHS and Hull Dance on the main stage are:
Explosive; Phoenix Youth Academy Juniors; High Storrs Dance Company; Street Beat Elite; Mechanics Performing Arts; Elements; CAPA Juniors; Horizon Community College; Rodillian Academy; Momentum Dance; South Yorkshire Youth Dance

Performing alongside Company at the already sold out FRESH FRINGE are:

Dance United Yorkshire; Hempland Tu-Tu Funky Dance; Soulz; Dance Stars Sheffield; RJC Dance Youth Company; Yorkshire Dance Street

FRESH is part of U.Dance, a national celebration of performance by young people. An independent selection panel will choose two groups from FRESH to represent Yorkshire at U.Dance 2018 at Ipswich in July.
