Beverley Town Football Club boss Rich Jagger says his sides first half performance was not acceptable as Town were beaten 3-0 by South Cave United.
Town went into the match looking to maintain their unbeaten run only to come unstuck that also saw their fox in the box Matty Littlefield given a straight red card.
Goals form United’s Alex Banister, Tom Dobson and Daniel Roos brought an end to Town’s recent good run of form.
Speaking after the match Jagger said;
“The first half performance was not acceptable and we dropped well below the standards we have set ourselves.”
“It was one of those games where everyone was poor and nothing went right for us.”
“We conceded after 2 minutes and were sloppy from the off. Littlefield had straight red after 25 minutes and we conceded just before half time going into the break two down.”
“Second half we were much better but the damage was done.”
Jagger said he let his side know he was not happy about their performance after the match and has promised there will be changes for the next game.
He said;
“We have to dust our selves down and go again next week when have key players back and changes will be made.”
Defeat sees Town drop down two places to sixth in the Humber Premier League and behind local rivals Walkington AFC who won at the weekend.
This was only the fourth win of the season for South Cave who made it back to back wins following their comprehensive victory over Walkington last time out.
Reckitts also got back to winning ways this weekend putting further pressure on Jagger’s side who before the latest round of matches looked to be challenging at the top.
Next weekend Jagger and his side will face Hornsea Town a match they simply must win if they want to keep their hopes of top three finish alive.
