 Town Football Club suffered a 2-0 defeat as they continued their build up to the new  season.

 Town were pitted against a much stronger side, , currently managed by Town’s most decorated manager of all time David Ricardo.

Ahead of the match Town’s boss  made it clear this would be a very ‘tough test’ for his side against a Rangers team who are enjoying a good pre season.

There was to be no shocks, Town conceded both goals in first half as Rangers demonstrated their dominance finding the gaps down Town’s left hand side.

Rangers first goal came a result of a Rangers exploiting the space left as Town simply failed to track back giving Rangers an easy opportunity to cut the ball back for a tap in.

Shortly after Rangers scored their second and final goal of the match from the penalty spot. Town’s keeper opted to shift to his right while the kick was placed straight down the middle of the goal.

Jagger remains upbeat about the new season returning the faith in his players who have showed their commitment by remaining with the team over summer.

He said;

“On the whole I am looking at last season’s squad to learn and improve from the experience of last season.  If they can do that we are confident of having a good season.”

“In terms of personnel we haven’t made that many changes from last season.  I am really pleased that the entire squad have signed on again for this season.”

“We have added a young keeper Graeme Anderson to the squad, he gives some extra competition in that department, and a couple of additions that are waiting to be confirmed.”

“We have trained well over the last four weeks and the lads were desperate for some competitive game time.  This fixture against Hall Road was definitely a good test the lads.”
