Graham Stuart has been elected to represent Beverley & Holderness as he eased to victory in the 2017 general election.

Mr. Stuart not only won but also increased his majority which now stands 14,042 after he polled 32,499 which was 58.4pc of the total votes cast.

While Mr. Stuart showed he was ‘Strong and Stable’ the same could could not be said for the leader of the Conservatives on a national level.

Theresa May called the election to try and strengthen her hand yet following a disastrous campaign has managed to end up too few seats to form a government.

Some experts now say she should step aside after failing to secure a majority she said she needed to secure a deal when holding Brexit talks.

Ms. May who used the slogan ‘Strong and Stable’ has somehow managed to end the election with less MP’s in the House of Commons then when she started.

With the result now clear that the UK will have a ‘Hung Parliament’ speculation in linking the Conservatives doing a deal with the DUP in Northern Ireland to form a government.

Finger pointing has already began as how the Conservatives managed to get the election so wrong.

Ms. May’s refusal to debate with other leaders along with bad policies and a manifesto with no financial explanation are just some of the reasons political experts say have contributed to the dreadful result.

This was in stark contrast to Labour who gave the nation hope with their pledges which were reward as they gained seats.

Jeremy Corbyn, leader of is just one of many high profile politicians who are now calling for the ‘Strong and Stable’ May to step down.

While Labour did not win the election there is no doubt that the 2017 general election proved to be a totally disastrous experience for the Conservatives.
