British Heart Foundation Win Charity Of The Month Competition

The has named their Charity of the Month for April, which was voted for by their members who visited the branch.

It was confirmed that the British Heart Foundation, who operates a store on Toll Gavel in the centre Beverley, who were the winners and received a generous donation of £250.

, the store manager in Beverley for the British Heart Foundation collected the prize on behalf of the charity.

Commenting on being selected as the charity of the month she said;

“We are so grateful for the donation from the Society. It can go towards lifesaving equipment and resources such as a local defibrillator.”

“May I take this opportunity to remind people that they if they wish to learn CPR, they can come to the British Heart Foundation shop to be trained and receive a certificate for free.”

Beverley Building Society’s Manager, Zoe Fisher, said:

“The British Heart Foundation is a brilliant charity fighting for awareness and research for such an important cause.”

“I think that the free CPR training that Vanessa hosts at the shop in Beverley is a great way to give locals the skills that can potentially save someone’s life.”

On average 867 in East Yorkshire alone die coronary heart disease. The British Heart Foundation aims to fund thousands of research projects around the UK that are fighting heart disease.

As a charity, they also raise awareness of heart disease so that people are better informed.

By donating unwanted clothes to the BHF shop in Beverley to be sold, the funds can be put to good use in the local area.
