Fantasy readers will feel at home in the historical setting of The Monks Walk on Highgate.

“The nearest meet up like this is often over an hour away. It’s great to have an event like this so close to home, as I know there are a lot of SFF fans in the area,” Organiser and author Michelle Horst said.

“For anyone who enjoys reading or wants to write Fantasy or Science Fiction stories, this is a great way to discover what’s happening in the industry and make contacts with others who work within it.”

The evening will also feature debut author Daniel Godfrey, whose debut novel, New Pompeii, has been described by Tom Harper bestselling author of The Lost Temple as “An exuberant, high-concept thriller that brings ancient Rome crashing into the present day. Smart, inventive and action-packed.”

Both authors will be signing copies of their books as well as answering questions on the night.

The event will start at 4pm and is supported by The British Science Fiction Association and the British Fantasy Society.

The Monk’s Walk is one of Beverley’s oldest pubs, set in the history rich shadow of just a few minutes’ walk from Beverley Train Station.
