Kings Head Hotel Bring Back Three Awards To Beverley

Beverley’s Kings Head Hotel have scooped three awards after beating off competition from bars and venues from around the UK.

At a special awards night held in Manchester the Kings Head Hotel won Best Head Chef which went to James Atkinson, Venue of the Year and also the General Manager of the Year Award.

Speaking to HU17.net, General manager Matt Clapison said;

“It was a testament to his staff and Beverley as a town. We are so pleased to have won these awards. Myself and all the team here at the Kings Head work so hard every day of the year so it is very nice to get some recognition for those efforts.”

“It also shows that while we are seemingly tucked away here in East Yorkshire that we are also a significant part of a much bigger company.”

Mr. Clapison was joined by eight members of his management team for the Revere Awards night in Manchester where along with the other 25 venues in the company, including a wide range of specialist cocktail bars, restaurants and hotels to walk away with the coveted prize of Best Venue.

While Mr. Clapison was delighted that the Kings Head Hotel had won he says that it shows that Beverley has a thriving night time economy which is something the town should be very proud of.

He said;

“It was really nice to bring these awards back home to Beverley. It shows that the town has something to offer everyone not just its valued residents but the many visitors it gets every year.”

Only recently the Kings Head Hotel underwent a major refurbishment that included its 10 hotel rooms.

Mr. Clapison says the appeal of the new boutique rooms are thriving and giving the local economy a real boost, he said;

“What we are seeing is an influx of new guests who are coming to stay from all over the UK due to the wide appeal of the town.”

“They often stay with us for two or three nights so they can not only explore Beverley but also the surrounding areas too.”

Their most recent awards follows last month’s success when Mr. Clapison was informed that the Kings Head in Beverley was the highest earning venue over the ‘Five days of Christmas’ within the entire company, he said;

“In all there are around 400 venues within the Marston’s Group all over the UK.”

“The Kings Head Hotel outperformed all of them during what the company calls the Five Days of Christmas’ which are, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Eve and New Years Day, a great achievement for the business and shows what a thriving and loyal town Beverley is.”
