Rebecca Bennett To Bring West End Glitz To East Yorkshire

A local girl from Beverley, Rebecca Bennett is bringing a bit of the West End to East Yorkshire as she hosts a top night of entertainment while raising awareness and funds for  Ovarian Cancer Action.

Ovarian Cancer Action is a charity that strives to stop women dying from ovarian cancer by funding world-class scientific research leading to innovative treatment and progressive solutions.

The event which is called BE. THE. CHANGE. will include a meal and variety of entertainment that will feature music, dance and fashion at Lazaat.

Miss Bennett, who lost her mother Jo Bennett to Ovarian Cancer in July 2014 says that holding a night of entertainment is a fitting tribute to her late Mother, she said;

“My mum was a huge fan of the theatre and was once a dancer herself, so what would be better but to hold an event filled with live entertainment from professional performers from the industry.”

“Those appearing have West End theatre credits. We will have live singers and a fashion show featuring local boutiques who will showcase  their clothing ranges.”

A performer herself, Miss Bennett  trained at a professional Dance and Musical theatre college in Kent called Bird College.

She has worked professionally alongside other professionals in the industry and well respected choreographers such as David Leighton.

She added;

“My most recent achievement was ‘Tommy’ The musical written by The Who. I was alongside stars such as Anthony Costa from the boy band Blue and Joe Mcelderry X Factors winner 2009.”

“Women that have either suffered or are suffering with Ovarian Cancer are in my opinion the strongest women and are so inspiring so this for every woman.”

Taking place on the 19 February at Lazaat tickets are priced just £30 per person. The price includes entry and fine dining three course meal, a night full of entertainment.
